Having looked at about 20 villas in their price range, Peter and Vivian McAvaney were getting a bit tired of traipsing around the metropolitan area.
They had sold their house in Geraldton and were moving to Perth to be near their adult daughter Rebecca and their grand-daughter. When the couple visited this property during the real estate agent’s twilight home open, their daughter said “This is the one!” before they had even walked through the front door. “It was all lit up,” Mrs McAvaney said. “With lights along the driveway and sparkling inside the house, it looked like fairyland. Peter jokes that I fell in love with the bling but it was much more than that.
“We might have downsized, but really, we’ve got so much space. I haven’t even filled all the cupboards.
“My son, his wife and their boys live in the United States and there’s easily enough room here for all of them when they come to visit soon.”
